This is a very sad story, so brace yourself! On Christmas Eve, I got the cutest St. Bernard puppy ever! Hans on the other hand, is a German Shepherd who is very sweet. Sadly, my puppy loved to chew on things and so only one hour after we got her, Hans killed the sweet puppy.*SOB* I have never ever cried that hard in my entire life! In my opinion, St. Bernard’s are the best type of dog you can ever get! They are incredibly underrated because not that many people want a dog that big. Every single dog list I go on, Golden retrievers or German Shepherds are always number one! St. Bernard’s RULE! ( that story might not of been that sad to a lot of people, but it definitely was to me! )

Great dog, especially for families.. Although not for everyone. Shed a LOT.. Need a lot of attention from their family, and moderate activity. Need to understand that you will be wiping drool and hair off of everything. Not a big deal after you get used to it. Also, have a reasonably large appetite. All worth it because of their loving, protective nature.
