FFX, one of the most powerful stories ever. Could really be a stand-alone 12 hour film itself, but you get a great (though pretty dated turn-based system) game as well! Would love to see it as a live action mini-series. My first final fantasy was 8! Then I played 7...I enjoyed 8 way more then 7. Everyone I've played have awesome storylines. Not to mention the consistency. Flawless game.
