Ancient Egypt should be top ten. I bet without Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece wouldn't be all that influential. They had an alphabet, made their own paper, they CREATED THE SCALPEL (we wouldn't even be at the medical stage we are at without them! Or maybe we would...), the first mummies (I think), and so much more! I mean, maybe Greece was a little more influential, but ancient Egypt should at least get the second spot. Who even knows about ancient Georgia though? No offense, people that do. I just don't think many people know about it.

Just look at all Egypt has done. They created the pyramids, the oldest standing structure of that size and built not one but many each one different in size. They also built the pyramids as almost like a compass, each corner facing a direction. They survived a very long time through nearly the first civilization to the beginning of Rome. They conquered and was conquered a fair amount of times and got wealthy from trading with the African poeple with salt and gold. Their religion still has an effect on today through many factors and has even inspired the writer of "Percy Jackson and the Olympions" to write a series on the relegion as well.

Oh and Ancient Egypt was not a slave based society like Ancient Greece. The pyramids were built by PAID WORKERS who were citizens. Also, Ancient Greece was VERY sexist. Ancient Egypt was the first civilization to give women the same rights as men! Vikings would follow suit many millennia later. Please vote for Ancient Egypt because this civilization is the pinnacle of all civilizations. This Jewel of the Sahara built the ONLY remaining wonder of the ancient world. They created their own writing system, hieroglyphics, built the first finished stone building (Zoser's Step Pyramid), and excelled in art, medicine, architecture, and painting. "It looks Greek to me" means I don't understand beyond that so it must be Greek.It's all EVOLUTION. Greeks have borrowed the alphabet from Babylon many things via very long evolution.When migrating from Africa they picked from the evolved Egyptian/Babylonian 'civilizations' developed further.Most of the things in Europe were further developed/passed via the Romans (so Latin alphabet become universal, the Greek is now minor) to the East initially via the Macedonian conquest.Dialectical philosophy is teaching us that all is part of changing/evolutionary universe/system.

There is no other ancient civilization that conveys as much a sense of mystery, power, and awe, as much as ancient Egypt. Even though Greece was an amazing civilization, I don't think they deserve the top spot, their culture and knowledge is largely taken from Egypt when Hellenism took hold in Alexandria and brought home the Egyptian way of life. Furthermore, I see many people talk of Democracy in Ancient Greece, I think this is fairly illogical, while they did have democracy it was only for land owning men. Their freedom was a lie.

I don't know where to begin:First Vessled boat found, largest and oldest structures on the face of the planet at the time, alignment of their world wonders with Orion, invention of a the first calendar of 365 days, invention of Makeup, stone carvings, even better metal carvings into the shape of gods and pharaohs. Not to mention advancement in math, engineering, and medicine from surgeries on brains to fixing broken bones and treating migraines. Nonetheless all the mysteries that hasn't been answers just as the art of mummification, building massive structures that are still standing and in better conditions than other ancient structures that were built after. Lastly, the capability of writing and drawing in narrow tunnels and tombs that are way underground and way far from any source of light. How did they do it?
