Japan was the country to end imperialism whilst also participating in it. It was the first asian country to modernize, and surprise the west. This shows how strong the country of Japan is. Napoleon once said that we should let China sleep, for one day she will shake the world. Japan, however was the true sleeping giant, as it has become one of the most influential capitalist cultures in the world. All of East-Asian modern history owes it's roots to Japan. The whole cute asian trend, that came from Japan. The amazing electronics, that also came from Japan. People don't really see Japan for what it is as the true shining star of Asia, culturally and economically. Japanese culture will continue to influence the youth of other countries for years to come.

I'm sorry, but everything significant or unique about Japanese culture has been derived/copied from China. Japan should be grateful to the U.S. that they were able to develop into the country that they are today (although their economy is currently declining rapidly) by effectively becoming a puppet state to the Americans after their defeat in WW2.
