My Chemical Romance has been and always will be an inspiration to killjoys and listeners out there. They helped many teens and troubled minds get over their suicidal conditions and helped face the world with their music. As a teen myself, of course, I have pains, struggles, issues, to deal with but My Chemical Romance makes it bearable and they help me stand back on my feet countless times. I am thankful for that. Even though they have separated and broke up, they made a legacy. An unforgettable one. They made history. Their fandom is still alive up to this day. ALIVE and still rocking it. Seeing My Chemical Romance ranked first, makes me glad that they're getting the credit that they deserve. They still deserve more though... My Chemical Romance is the reason that I am alive to write this comment. They were there to fill in the silence during my sleepless nights. They were there distracting me from the blade. They were there telling me that I'm not alone, and people are going through this too and we need to "carry on" and "keep on living" to help all the other "fabulous killjoys" get through this together. Look. If their is one thing I know is that My Chemical Romance is the most influential and poetic band known to the emo or depressed culture. And me being a chemical kid for this band. I know for a fact they changed the world. I work on music of my own. And I've listened to bands like ptv and bvb but this band is more amazing than ever. Gerard is basically kurt cobain and john lennon had a baby. I wish I could say I was him. And I wish my music can do what he has done. He has changed people and helped people. But the saddest part is he wanted to escape the darkness. But he couldn't. Like kurt. And his music changed the world. Like lennon. But like he said. And will always never be forgotten. My Chemical Romance is such an influential band! They helped me through so much when nothing else was working for me. Their lyrics are truly amazing and so are the musicians! I wish that I didn't have to cry every time I listen to them. It really just brings me back and I could never ask for more than what they have given me... A better perspective on life. They brought me back up when I thought that there was no hope. Every time I see them, I just feel great. Anyone who is underestimating them truly doesn't see how they effect many people, including myself.

None of these bands are emo! Emo/post hardcore started in the eighties with bands like rites of Spring, embrace and fugazi in the nineties leading up to bands like braid and even arguably including early jimmy eat world records. Emo is very stripped down and raw in general, not overly technical, not flashy. focused more on odd time signatures and raw emotional vocals. Don't get me wrong! I actually like many of these bands. Very talented heartfelt musicians, But really! they are all hardcore bands infused with metal influences. (Which again...I really like and is the style of music I play myself) However! If you want good emo start with rites of Spring, fugazi, braid, cap'n jazz, hey Mercedes, heck! even the anniversary or Sparta (wiretap scars) or jets to Brazil...all arguably emo bands. They share many sonic characteristics. It bothers me that there is such a lack of being able identify subganres. But then again...it's all punk and hardcore to me! ... more

HECK YEAH they're MY FAVORITE BAND. My favorite songs are pretty much all from their first album. (i brought you my bullets you brought me your love) Their lyrics connect with me so much and they're all such great inspirations, not to mention great people. And when you really listen to the lyrics, you get to understand the meaning behind it all. And when you compare lyrics from bullets to danger days, you really get emotional because of how far they have come. They are one of the reasons I am alive

My Chemical Romance is an amazing band, they went full cycle. Their first album "Bullets" was about dying being dead and alone. The next album "Revenge" was about killing people, the third album and the most well known "The Black Parade" is about the mass death and a macabre story. Finally "Danger Days" is about healing from all that and using your old sadness to change the world. Personally I cannot choose a favourite because they are all so beautifully done. show more comments darr;
