The leader of the opposition Labour government party wanted to change this anthem, but why? Just because we were deciding whether we would change the flag (Which we didn't because the alternative choices were terrible) and we lost pride in what we already had. Its actually a great anthem with a tune and shows racial unity between the Maori people and NZ Europeans.
