Its actullay one of my favorite movies I ranked as number 4 on that list and you wanna know why because its heartwarming and enjoyable also they were a few charming scenes and I love the relationship between ET and the boy you can tell he will do anything to hide his little alien friend from the government, but you don't know if the alien is dangerous so that could be way the governments after him but still a nice heartwarming friendship esspically at the end with the goodbye scene I also love the chase scene with the alien you know when the government chasing after the kids and the kids are on their bikes and the bikes are flying god I love that scene its even on the poster and this movie inspired the most ripoffs believe it or not but they weren't god awful in fact they're so bad that they were in enjoyable and this is defintely of spielbergs best same with jurrasiac park and definitely one of best kids, SCI FI and movies of all time.

I am going to have to agree. I cried when I first saw it. And, it's educational. It teaches you that the government will break into your home and try to kidnap your hideous alien pet that no one knew about but your family. And the meaning of good movie... :-)
