I think Gothel is an amazing villain because not only is she extremely deceptive and probably has one of the most thought out and relatable back stories, she had the most depth. Right down to the part where for a moment, one shining moment, Gothel felt actual concern for Rapunzel. The entire song 'Mother knows Best' isn't just Gothel wanting Rapunzel for herself, but also her concern for Rapunzel. Why else would she point out that Rapunzel was getting chubby when there were cleary much more evil, deceptive things she could've said? And she also had a look of true motherly concern when she found out Rapunzel was missing. Gothel is also very relatable in two ways. One, mankinds desire for eternal life. That is all Gothel wants, eternal life. Everyone has dreamed of it at some point, Gothel just tried to make her dreams come true. And Two, people like Gothel ACTUALLY exist. There are parents who treat their children like that. Sad, but true. Gothel was by far, the best villain.

I think mother gothel is a mastermind. The way she planned every thing out before confronting rapunzel is amazing, you need a person who is super intelligent to do that. She made sure that after going home rapunzel would never want to leave the tower again. I also love the song "mother knows best"
