Sadly enough, Annie is a seriously underrepresented villain in the horror community. First of all, the character is derived from arguably one of Stephen King's best novel. Secondly, Annie is portrayed by Kathy Bates in her initial major role, earning her an Academy Award for Best Actress. However, what I believe makes Ms. Wilkes so goddamn terrifying is that she isn't a supernatural presence that preys in your dreams, nor a shapeshifting entity from space that commonly takes the form of a clown. She's simply a human, such as Norman Bates or Hannibal Lecter. No magic, no rituals, simply an extensive knowledge of medicine, incredible strength, and a badass sledgehammer. She could just be a real human.
