Eugene started out with less than novice fighting and survival abilities, and crucially the inability to relate to others- as though he were a martian dropped off onto earth amid the apocalypse for a sick jape.However he's since evolved arguably even beyond Carol Peletier. His survival, fighting, and social skills have each improved, and he's still maintained his awkward persona even in S7- and hopefully long after.
