They base it off her looks and some character traits we barely get to see (to be fair, she'd probably be a somewhat decent character if she had more development and less kidnappings). They overrate her because she's so well known. They either ignore her constant kidnappings or make stupid excuses for them. "Think of all the classics we'd have missed out on if she hadn't been captured so many times." NO. We'd still have the classics. Nintendo would just have to spend two minutes coming up with a different plot. The Official Nintendo Magazine claims that "some might view her as being a bit useless", which is an understatement. Her constant kidnappings make her a massive pain in the neck, which is worse than being useless. - Treacle
