We moved to a small town because we like small town life you know where your neighbors bring you a apple pie and everyone gets to know everyone. Moving from Georgia and Alabama this was small town life. But hell no people will avoid you at all costs. It took forever for people to start coming around to us and even when we tried to go meet people people seemed annoyed that we are bothering them. People seem to only talk to people they know which I guess is fine but they wont smile at you or anything. I mean people wave at me on the roads but that is about it. I thought maybe we just picked a bad town but it turns out their all like that round here. I have never met so many rude ass people in my life. There are still people who wont even talk to me though once people start to come around they are some of the nicest I ever met.

I am was not going to do Missouri but I noticed it got a lot of hate. Here goes my take its pretty split really there are many very nice people here and then there are another half that are stand offish and dont like to talk much. Also, people seeming to be standoffish is sometimes them trying to be courteous and not be in your way. Though many people her there will give hateful looks, look at you funny, yell at you, huff and puff (as a resident it happens to me all the time) their not ALL like this. I have been to Branson a few times and yes people are right about it being the worst however just ignore the rude people and you might be surprised that there are plenty of people who will talk to you. Missouri is a very distinct rudeness. You can tell people don't like you. I have been to Missouri a number of times for work and just for fun and I can say even when we first got to the airport in Kansas City people were rude. People if you get too close will mumble under their breath or say something snarky. Your sure at one point to have someone say something to you. St. Louis is also pretty bad people won't even look at you half the time and people dont talk to people. You will see sometimes people part ways just to avoid you. In other states people will talk to you or at the very least ignore you but Missourians are snobby and don't like people they don't know around them or bothering them. I went to a Taco Johns just north of Kansas City and people there where so rude. I sat down with my food to have people at the table in front of me continually make faces at me. Dont get me wrong the whole state is rude but the southwestern part is the worst. People in Branson and Lake Ozarks think this is their town and tourists are a nuisance. People go out of their way to avoid you. Public freak outs like you see on YouTube you would be shocked at how many times you see something like that play out. People make dirty looks at you. I was eating at Paula Deans restaurant in Branson with some friends and family and we sat by another table just because we liked the location. This lady made faces the entire time we where eating and naturally I made faces back and she got a manager and the manager made us move. We tried to explain but the manager gave us some BS and we moved. She still made faces and we talked to the a manger and she said she would adress it and she made faces until eventually she got finished eating and they left.

Southwestern part of the state seems to be the worst. I have seen grown ass men and women throw them selves on the ground before and throw a fit, drinks thrown at fast food workers, information agents cussed out, people getting angry for no reaosn, road rage like you never seen before. Its crazy some of the rudest people I ever met in my life. They also wont talk to you and they sometimes will ignore you if you try and talk to them. I was going to be nice and tell this guy he had something on his shirt but screw it he wound not even look at me. People also give you these nasty looks for no reason. There was a lady making faces at me the entire time I was eating. I dont know what her problem was but she just kept making these horrendous faces. I guess she does not know her face can freeze like that.

Every Walmart in the state has people huffing and puffing and ramming people out of the way in a busy isle. I have had people come and ram my cart as well as people when you try and get out of the isle someone is right there not paying attention and gets mad and says something rude. Dont go to Walmart in Missouri you will be treated horribly. I swear its every single Walmart on every part of the state when ever you go there this will always be a problem. So just try somewhere else.

Kansas City resident here! Missouri is the worst state I have lived in and I have lived a lot of places. Kansas City is pretty split people are really nice or really rude and it was the same way when I lived closer to Springfield and when I lived near Jefferson City. People go out of their own way to avoid you. People expect you to sit as far away from them as you can get or they look at you like your sitting at their table and will talk to eachother and say why is he so close to us not even a joke. Honestly though once you get to know them their a lot nicer but I had a lady once scream at me saying GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME just because I was standing too close to her.

Never in my life have I ever been to a more rude state like this. I have been to New York, Florida, Texas, Washington, other counties, etc but never have I been to a place like this. In places like New York people are rude but they dont get super angry when you get around them. People in Missouri wont talk to you and when you go talk to them they become very rude and the tone of their voice sounds annoyed. Some of them are even down right snobbish and there are also people who think being rude is a sport and try and see who can be worse. I went to Branson because its supposedly a touristy spot but locals think its just for them. The locals are very rude to tourists who are trying to figure the place out unlike the locals who already know it. Former resident here. I grew up in Missouri it was not until I moved when I realized how rude the people of the state where. I pretty much knew people as well as knew people. But I moved to Colorado and I come and visit family. It was weird because I will admit I was in the mind set as well. When I first moved I was like why are these people talking to me I dont know them same with I never had men come up to me and approach me at bars which was crazy. Though its so much better here when I go there people are very stand offish and I just never realized how absolutely rude people are. Colorado is better yall people will walk up and talk to you like your friends while in Missouri getting to know people takes time. Even my family is like that and I still have Missouri blood in me but I am learning to be more outgoing and friendly.
