The worst is being in customer service. No body likes working for free and that happens all the time as a server. No body wants to chase your kids around in a store while they act like terrorists destroying everything and running people over. If you come to visit Utah make sure you lower your deductible before you come. My first visit here resulted in an accident and the driver had no insurance. And don't mind the dirty looks you get if you don't have a kid in tow. If you don't have children you must be trying to take some one else's by the way they look at you. Utah is a beautiful place to live and I like it here but I have yet to actually talk to more than four neighbors and I have lived here for a year. Utah needs to change because as of right now it is the rudest state on the west coast and that is saying something because nobody likes a Californian.

People here are so rude in every possible way. People actually go out of their way to be rude one the road. They speed up to block you when they see blinkers or notice you're trying to change lanes. They cut you off all the time and I have to slam on my breaks quite often. Forget stop signs, people are selfish and refuse to wait, they think they're too important. People go or of their way to be rude. I hear a lot of times "Utah people are rude on the road but are nice people". That's the biggest load of crap I hear. If people are going out of their way to be rude on the road, that means they consciously want to be rude, nice people don't do that.They STARE ALL THE TIME and gossip about everyone. You're being watched intensely. They get upset if you stare back. They want to see if you're Mormon, if you don't dress like them, they tell each other if you're not Mormon. I cant agree more with what everyone else has said. It is a state of hypocrites. As a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I am ashamed at the behavior of so many members in this state which so obviously opposes our fundamental beliefs. People are awful, rude drivers that intentionally try to frustrate others on the road by tailgating and blocking others from turning. When you make eye contact with someone and smile, you will often get a scowl in return. Law enforcement officials are completely egotistic and cruel, as opposed to the usually well-meaning and affable ones that I have encountered in other states. I only ever visit this awful place to see family members.

People in Utah have no manners. They are loud, obnoxious and self-centered. Put your car blinker on and people will speed up. Say "Excuse me" when you are cornered in a grocery aisle and they will just stand in your way. Don't bother crossing at a crosswalk, the drivers will speed up and not stop even though you have the right of way. They let their bratty kids make a mess at stores and Utahns don't grasp a basic understanding of common courtesy.

I have lived here my whole life and I hate it. The people ARE TERRIBLE. every time I get into my car "I have to wonder will some douche nugget kill me today? " Entitled people everywhere, nobody matters except themselves. All the comments I can agree with 110%. People are shallow and your wealth and the way you appear is more important than who you really are. Mormons like to pretend they are hollier than thou, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors so get off your high horse. you just hide all your dirt. Oh Utah, where do I begin. I am originally from the South where people overall are pretty kind and accepting. Since moving to Utah and living here for several years, I have become guarded, bitter, tough and overall depressed. The people here are not only unkind (whilst expecting you to be Mother Theresa) but they are insincere (putting on a front, not living their truth, backstabbing), superficial (pre-occupied with mommy makeovers, Botox, dieting, exercising too much, Nordstrom, and fancy cars). If you dont fit this mold, you really truly are treated as sub human. Hell I fit this mold as much as I can (having been called a southern belle- looking nice, affinity for fashion, makeup and hair) am a size 2 at 5 foot 7 but still made to feel completely insecure because maybe Im not modest in my dress or my car is electric but not a Tesla etc... when I visit New York, Portland, Denver for work I actually feel and am treated like a person of value and worth. Yep, Utah is the only state where I have received racist treatment at establishments such as Coffee Garden and Oasis. If you are a minority, they will serve you last and charge you extra. They bully people of color constantly while claiming to be open minded.

Hello, I visited Utah flown from salt lake city to moab. I spent many days in Moab and I felt in love with it people. They are educated nice and polite. I was well treated from salk lake city airport up to monument valley when I reached the Utah-Arizona border. I made plenty of friends. I am wondering based on what some of you found Utah people rude?! by the way I am Algerian woman.
