Final Fantasy VII is the best final fantasy in every category except of course graphics. That being said, Final Fantasy VII was the pinnacle of graphic achievement when it came out in 1997. If you keep that in mind, then surely you will appreciate that the game is quite old and shows its age. The story, plot, gameplay, and game mechanics are top notch and will forever be not only the best final fantasy, but also one of the best games of all time.

I played final fantasy vii to see how it compares to the other games and it beat the crap out of the other games in everything except the graphics because compared to xiv & the other new ones the graphics just don't compare;though everything else about it is way better. I mean I just wish they'd re-master it for ps3/x-box 360/pc with way better graphics & it'd be no questions asked the best game out there

VII will forever be THE Final Fantasy. I have to give a nod to VI as well because that time of RPG's was the pinnacle in my opinion, and together they sort of occupy this time and place where Square was king of the world as they transitioned from 16 bit games to greater hardware where you could tell a story in a different way.

The characters and plot are my favorite out of all in the franchise. The only game that I think will come close to this is 13 versus and I've done extensive research on that game and it looks amazing. There's a reason this game has movies and branch off games; it's because it's the best.

Without any doubt the most amazing game of all time. I was a teenager when I started playing it and I am playing it through every couple of years since then.

The Characters, the storyboard, the atmosphere, its all just magical to me. It may sound silly but this game is part of my childhood and even now part of my life, after more than 15 years.

I played Final Fantasy VIII also a lot. This part was also just great. For me, FF VII and FF VIII are the best games of all time.

After playing, extensively, most other Final Fantasy's, only one seemed irreproachable--VII. The story is a beautiful creation, filled with plot elements that have far surpassed the stories of any other Final Fantasy's yet. One could argue that a few good stories exist since then, however the underlying truth is that VII, despite graphics to modern interpreters, is without a doubt the greatest Final Fantasy game, and one of the greatest games, in general, even now.

Played this game for the first time when I was 9, I loved that game though I never finished it(and also never understood the story). About 12 yrs old I lost my original copy T_T. Now I'm 18 when I saw the game in the PS3 store, didn't doubt and went straight to buy it. Awesome Game!

The story, the characters, the setting, the music, and the general feel of the game is spectacular. This is my favorite game of all time. Playing it is like being apart of an amazingly adventure that is hard to put into words. I basically experienced laughter, joy, sadness, excitement etc. all throughout this game and couldn't stress enough how this game touched me. As ridiculous as that sounds, it's true.

Final Fantasy 7 without a doubt is just the best series of the "Final Fantasy" franchise. It's just the most memorable and most impacting story. The movie advent children was just absolutely executed very well.
