So all you people say side 1 is the best, but I beg to differ, The entire album is just set apart from the others and is a phenomenal point in Rock and roll history. I will go through all 15 songs and describe how great they are, in order of appearance since I can't rank them right:1)Custard Pie-phenomenal riff and solo from the king of riffs, Jimmy Page2)The rover- no solo, but what the guitar lacks in style is made up for in how hard-hitting this song is and how contemplative the lyrics are3)In my time of dying- anther example of when they took an old blues and made it probably my favorite song EVER, 11 minutes of pure awesome4)Houses of the Holy- wrong album, Zeppelin, easily the worst song on disc 1, but the riff is good5) Trampled Underfoot- an amazing example of how Jones can do more than play the bass like a boss, his keyboard is killer on this song6)Kashmir- best song on disc 1, not opinion, just facts, do I need to describe it?7)In the light- ... more

6th in my ranking of Led Zep albums. Yes, shockingly.. it's a fantastic album but because of the bands musical growth and sheer balls about them I couldn't put it above lll. It's not better than ll, IV, or l. And I like more songs off Houses of the Holy, so here it sits. Not that it's a bad thing... 6th in a catalog of Led Zeppelin album rankings is still excellent. It's a solid album and it's depth is amazing. Kashmir is an amazing song but this album is packed with so much more than just that. I absolutely love Black Country woman, trampled under foot, and custard pie. Another album easily in the top 100 all time rock albums. Easily rated a 93 for me and that's brilliant considering they I rank it 6th at a 93 of 100 in their entire studio catalog.
