Dude, ALL characters on here are fictional. The (voice) actors are actual people, but the characters that they portray are not. And also, his son was only a kid (or cub, in this case). Did your father just let you run around on the streets, even in those dark alleyways? If he was a responsible parent, I would guess he didn't. This is pretty much the same case. Simba wasn't allowed to go out in the fields, because he would basically die if he wasn't careful enough.
