This film was garbage. I gave it a 2.5/5 because it uses plot contrivances that have already been seen in EVERY single Lord of the Rings or Hobbit film to date. I was very disappointed in what should've been an epic showdown. Also, any dwarf that had any backstory whatsoever, ended up getting killed off. Also, the possibility of them even surviving all of that was ridiculous. The king Dwarf Oakenshield also got really annoying with the terrible script he was personally handed, repeating himself over and over and OVER again! Finally, don't even get me on the part where Gandalf is cleaning out his weed pipe. I just don't even. - footballwhizz

I cried twice just in the last 15 minutes before the credits. This movie may just be an ending to the trilogy but it's an action-packed, emotional, and epic finale. I guess I'm biased because I'm from New Zealand (No, this movie did NOT come from Hollywood) But this movie took my breath away. Superior to it's predecessors in every way, this movie truly captures the enticing magic of the even more amazing Lord of the Rings trilogy in a strange, morbidly epic fashion.

I loved this movie maybe not as much as the previous two but it was still good. Never read the books so I never expected Smaug to be killed so early in the movie I thought that would be the final battle or something. But nevertheless it was a great movie.
