I loved how in-depth some of the characters were, including the active part of your Avatar and challenges constantly thrown your way. Several maps, if played on a higher difficulty, are seen as almost impossible for me to beat in Classic mode. I remember watching a popular Youtuber fight the final boss on Lunatic Classic mode, and had to restart because all of his characters had died. The story also seemed more realistic and true to how (in my mind) the Avatar would react. I personally see it a little silly that (if playing Birthright), the Avatar would choose the family they know little of, and *Chapter 5 spoilers* would even want to return to the family where they just killed their birth mother. Add that to the hate they received afterwards, the town destruction...yeah, Revelations and Conquest seems the most logical of choices.

Though I was hesitant to pick up this game at first - since I didnt enjoy Awakening and Birthright as much I would of expected - this alternate version of the Hoshidan story made me happy that I chose to play.From the get-go, you'll notice that this game brings the difficulty the other games on the 3Ds lacks, ranging from no free money or grinding. Every move you take could either destroy the game or cast victory. The characters have a huge variety, some having great writing while some are simple minded and some have no personality whatsoever (Camilla). But I did enjoy a handful of the characters, such as Xander.The plot however, was straight up awful. As in, numerous plot holes and a predictable plot. But hey, it was better than Birthright and Revelation. The main antagonist, King Garon, was just some random dude that gave you missions and you did them, knowing he was evil. Wow. Between Birthright and conquest, it really wasn't that hard of a choice for me. conquest has in my opinion better characters, a better storyline, and I like the dark tone it took. BR was a bit too chipper for my taste. Conquest gave you a happy ending, but you had to work for it. Love the cast. Such a hard time choosing between Flora and Camilla, and it was harder to get the romances as you had less opportunity, but overall, a fantastic game with a great ending - taishisohma

The definitive Fire Emblem experience in my eyes. A strict and rewarding challenging coupled with likable, discernible characters that I like building up into an army badasses. If future FE games stick closely to the linear resource management and with deeper combat/unit-building, the series can continue to be my most favorite.No grinding. No turn-rewinds. Just good old strategy full of suspense and tough choices in battle!

Honestly, this should be higher on the list, due to it's really good story and new features in the series. It has classic map design like past games, making it a type of throwback to the harder games in the series. Also, this is the first in the series where this is one side to a story. Playing this game makes you want to play the others. (Birthright and Revelation)

The only people who don't like this version are noobs. Goes back to old mechanics, which is very nice. Big step from Awekening which was a mess of RNG, and had way too much BS happening. I like how reinforcements come at the end of enemy phase, and that there is more predictability throughout the game, while Awakening made almost everything a percent chance of happening. Well done, but the plot could use a little more clarity.

I like how it is a bit harder then birthright because in birthright you can always find challengers to level up your guys, but in conquest you have to level them up by sharing experience points by pairing up or visit a castle

After Awakening I really appreciated the return to truly difficult maps: they did a very good job of downplaying the formerly OP mechanics of Awakening. The story is great and the characters are memorable.

The only Problem with this game is there is no Postgame. Ypu cannot even save after killing Takumi. The rest of this game however is good - Mattblue66
