The animation team was getting used to drawing the characters, and Steven's voice was different. In the beginning, SU was supposed to be a silly show, with almost no plot. Rebecca Sugar, the creator of SU, has changed that. It is now plotheavy and the storyline is amazing, not to mention the amazing art put in to the backgrounds.
