So overrated! Why are Marvel movies always dominating these type of movie lists? Every year they release a spew of superhero movies that gets a lot hype and attention only to come out disappointing in reality. This was no different from that case.The main reason why everyone went to see this besides the MCU hype was obviously because of Tom Holland, who I guess is a decent pick to play Spider-Man, but he is still no match to Tobey Maguire. There was barely any emotional moments in the film, it honestly felt like an amateur comedy movie at times. The plot was nothing new to the table, and honestly I have absolutely no clue why some people say that this was better than the rabidly over-hated Spider-Man 3. - Joeljohns249

I just saw it, and it was a MEGA improvement on the last Spider-Mans. This movie is just hilarious at times just because peter Parker is doing teenager things or being awkward with his friend. Also, I am glad that there is only ONE bad guy, who's motivations are pretty simple other than "I'm gonna destroy the world or take over it haha". He's just a guy who wants to provide for and protect his normal family. Way better than Wonder Woman (which is still good but I found overrated) - Phillip873

Alright. I'm going to say it. This movie sucks. I'm sorry, but I really don't think that this is a good film. When I was watching this movie, I noticed how douchey and hollow it felt. Peter Parker is not likable and I really think that falls on Tom Holland's performance. He's just a stereotypical millennial "bro" who's only point is to pander to the teenage audience. He's not funny, he's not charming, and not once did I believe that he was actually Spider-Man. With Maguire and Garfield, they had humanity and a down-to-earthiness about them that made them easy to root for. With Holland, his character comes of as an disingenuous douchebag. I felt dirty and extremely manipulated while watching him. This movie, along with every other movie in the MCU, was only made to make money. It's not trying to tell an endearing story. This is the best Spiderman movie I have seen personally. Tom Holland is a good Spiderman, but he's an excellent Peter Parker. The action is truly amazing, and the story is much more than the typical, "oh no, the bad guy has such strong powers how will we defeat them" storyline, with actual consequences to the characters and story with every scene. Am I the only one who hated this film? Boring action, cringy jokes, laughable plot and stale acting. I also think that Tom Holland is the worst spider-man. And why there has to be Iron Man in every Marvel movie. This movie like other MCU movies made a ton pile of money just because of Robert Downey Jr since he is their biggest money printing machine. Ruined everything great about spider-man. In my opinion this is the worst spider-man movie ever.

This was better than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2! It's not better than Spider-Man 1 and 2 due to what felt like a lack of emotion, but it's definitely one of the best Spidey films we've gotten in recent memory. Tom Holland flawlessly portrays Peter Parker/Spider-Man and the supporting cast does a fantastic job. The action is also pretty sweet. This is overrated, but it is still a great movie. 8/10 - DCfnaf
