I have been living in northeast Oklahoma for 8 years. As a white mother of four interracial children, I say Oklahoman in general are racist, but not to your face. When the kids are with me, no real problem, just looks and stares. Everyone smiles and says "God Bless you" but alone, people are rude. White kids in school are rude and in clicks against the blacks and mixed kids. Fast food workers aren't nice to my son, but nice to the people behind and in front, cops pull them over for no reason. I hate racism. I want it to stop! Now, I'm going to make a very stereotypical comment. We are in a catch 22. White people think blacks are criminals. Black people think whites are racists. Until the black crime stops, white people wont become tolerant, and until white people stop the bigotry, blacks wont stop the crime.God help us all and get me out of this state.

This states has racism but what state doesn't norman, tulsa and edmond are the most racist parts moore Oklahoma is in between, I lived here 6yrs so I would know I lived all over. But there are more interracial couples here and more biracial kids here than any other state, it's a boring state but its good on daycares hosuing and jobs. The city is excellent and moore Oklahoma is not bad but they have tornadoes that seem to kill a lot of people its crazy because the tornadoes only seem to kill people in moore? Than any where else not the hood nor Mexicans just some parts of moore that makes me wonder...

I have great friends here all colors the only racism experienced here is the ignorant elder who are 60 and older my childs fsther is white his family loves my daughter my best friends are white and there are more interracial relationships and kids here than most places. Its cheap living great jobs and great or a single parent or one who wants to start over even if you have a background it doesn't show here so it's a good state all around. I been here 6yrs and I'm from Chicago I love it here. I experienced a new life a better life build a great home and good work ethics here, my bosses were equal and great to work with the inly racism I ever experienced was from extremely old people who is dumb and still live in the old days its 2015 people there wont be a pure blood line of just one race by 2040 it will be more interracial kids and couples than ever watch and see.

Most of the people who consider Oklahoma racist have never even visited the state. Racism is everywhere. Ojlahoma has some of the most friendly people I have ever met (and I am a minority). From what I have experienced, the people in power do not fairly represent the residents of the state. The governor makes decissions that go against what the people have shown they want. All in all, Oklahoma has a few bad apples as every state does, but the people who have actually been there know that the good far outweighs the bad.

I've been living here for about 5 years, I am Mexican and my family is too, and I can honestly say Oklahoma is one of the worst places in the U. S for anyone who isn't white, it is terrifying to live here if you are Latino, I was bullied because of my race for over a year, physically and emotionally, I had to go to therapy to get over all the hate and racism I experienced because I had never experienced it before, people look at you werid because syou are not white, people are very rude VERY RUDE! It is a great place to raise a WHITE family because everyone seems to know everyone and it's pretty typical 50s family lifestyle, oh and let's not forget, people are VERY close minded so for any gays out there who want to come live in Oklahoma, think twice or be ready to be hated upon, PLEASE GET ME OUT OF HERE here is nothing to do, it is so boring living here! I HATE RACISM AND Oklahoma! :(

Read this page and I'm from Ohio. I will say clear a lot OF THE BAD POINTS SOUND LIKE OHIO a lot! Diffrence is Wooster Ohio is a town that has far and I mean far fewer interrcial couples and its like 3 pct black and 97 pct white Ohio is a state that's 88 pct white you guys got us beat as far as diversity! I would generally say racism in Ohio Indiana and Kentucky is not far behind you guys and I dare say the segeration in the rust belt is worse much worse and yet you Okies are 2nd in the nation in mixed marriages when Ohio is 35th in interracial marriages?
