I'm really surprised that they did not put Zelda as an option even though it is an RPG / adventure game. Morrowind has a special place in my heart as I thought it was the best of the Elder Scrolls series and started out with an actual awesome story and they continued with an awesome story throughout but the grinding through caves seemed redundant after a while and got boring. Leveling up was relatively easy but overall a great series.

FF shines in PS1 era but it has gone quite bad for FF12 and 13. I love the worldmap to explore and ability to heavily customize your characters in your certain way and feel that you're unstoppable about it. The musics are really great. When Squaresoft turns to Squareenix, the game is not as good anymore. I would rate other series to top FF12 and 13 but FF7, FF8 are the best ever RPG.

The FF games are always accompanied by awesome graphics deserving standing ovations at the producers' attention to every little detail coupled with a compelling and original storyline. The fighting system is simple and definitely not sleep inducing. Flawless. Wonder why this was 2nd and not 1st. This series is a legend, damn!

Best role playing games period. I don't understand why everyone at the bottom of the list is crying about console games. The platform doesn't matter as long as the game is good. The newer final fantasy games are pretty horrible, but Final fantasy 4 through 7 were unbeatable. Especially character-wise.

How is this not first? That Ridiculous! This is by far, the most memorable, and amazing RPG franchise ever created. Having the brilliant strategy of almost never having a game in the same universe or world, they are able to keep things fresh and new very easily. Although the later ones have been lacking.. The old ones are perfection.

Final Fantasy VII started it all for me, but since then I've played and loved them all with the exception of one, FFXI (visually stunning but too linear for my FF mind to take). When SquareSoft became SquareEnix the game series took a slight turn for the worse, but as a franchise this one is Epic.

The story of an FF game cannot be retold in any novel, as it might have the greatest story in any video game up to date. FF7 is widely known to be the greatest game of all time, so the series should be the greatest series ever. Other series are great, but nothing really stands up to the great Final Fantasy.
