Hands down to all those books above this! Sherlock Holmes series is a pure work of genius from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, There's a "SIR" entitled to this author for a reason. A watered down version of this work is studied in many countries all across the globe, no wonder people thought this was a true story until they do some research on the internet, that's how great this series is. This is the only series that had numerous number of iterations as games, fan fiction, T.V. series, Movies, etc. and this 131 years long legacy will continue for years ahead without ceasing until humanity goes extinct.
