Why is this not on the top ten? Honestly, The Mortal Instruments has of the best world-building I have ever seen. Everything is so complex and intricate, and every little action has repercussions that reappear centuries later. All of the books are tightly linked, and there are little details and references that link back to characters from prequels series that took place over a century ago. And every single one of the characters has a deep and complex personality. The writing is beautiful, and everything and everyone (even the villains) are relatable, and have a legitimate reason for what they do.

This series should be much higher. In my opinion, it's so much more amazing that a dozen listed prior. The books are an emotional roller coaster where you share such a love hate relationship with the characters. There are so many moments where you just want to reach in and knock some sense into them, yet also many moments where you just want to reach in and hug them. But overall pretty overrated book but actually lived up to the hype which is something not all can achieve.

I am so sad right now. Why is this series so low? The others before weren't as good, like the diary of a wimpy kid was higher! Seriously? Who voted for these? Anyway, I love this series so much. The characters are amazing, the plot is action-packed, fast-paced and so, so interesting. I love this series and it should be number 1 or no. 2, I still can't decide between Harry Potter and this!

The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices are my favorite book series ever! They are phenomenal and always keep you in constant suspence. In my opinion, both series should be in the top 10. Not only is it completly unpridectable, but its also expressive. We laughed and cried with the characters, and personally, these series helped through a very tough time. I highly recommend them!

WHY DO yOU NOT VOTE FOR THIS! The heroes of Olympus series is my favorite, but the mortal instruments is a close second. It NEEDS to be higher on the list! I mean, I get why some people might not like it. The movie was poop and so was the T.V. show. BUT, the books are sooo good! It deserves a lot more credit and it should have got at LEAST in the top ten books.

I literally read every book of this series I get in a day because they're all so good! As you get farther into the series the plot is still action packed and there are plot twists everywhere! Every book is so good and it doesn't drag on! This deserves so many more votes!

I do NOT understand why is it ranked so low. A completely thrilling book which also happens to be a must read can NOT be ranked low!
