Yoshi is my personal favorite when it comes to Nintendo characters. Even though he is often overshadowed by Mario in many Mario games, he could clearly beat Mario in a fight? Think about it, have you ever seen Yoshi die in NSMBW, NSMBU, or for that matter, any game with Mario and Luigi as the main protagonists? Sure, he can fall, making him out of the level, or go into lava, or run off Mario's back when Mario would normally get hit by an enemy when Mario is riding him, but you never hear him falling to his death like you hear Mario, plus the fact that he can fly, and when he falls into lava, he doesn't seem like he is in pain at all, unlike if Mario even touches lava once. It seems like Yoshi is simply tired being Mario's insignificant helper only to get forgotten, and he just wants to go in the lava or fall to get away from Mario, while not even taking a single scratch. Yoshi is always the one to get Mario across huge gaps in the ground, only to fall to his doom, although with Yoshi's powers, I think Yoshi always has a better chance of saving the mushroom kingdom. Sometimes I even wonder why he wasn't some sort of pokemon. The games with Yoshi and without Mario are always the best because it's the same Yoshi that can turn into almost anything and is all-powerful compared to Mario.

Yoshi has always been my favorite nintendo character no contest. When I was younger I'd always want to be him in super smash 64 and mario kart 64. Not to mention I loved to play super mario world (his debut), super mario world 2: Yoshi's Island, and yoshi's story. He will forever be my favorite by a landslide (though I love most nintendo characters). He is just to cool of a dinosaur! - Spongehouse

Yoshi can eat you, Mario, enemies, Ganon, and every Nintendo character you can think of. There would be no Mario without a Yoshi. Why should Mario be number one? He always jumps off of Yoshi so he ends up in a bottomless pit. However, he always ends up back in his egg, still befriended to Mario. In conclusion, Yoshi is epic, trustworthy, and overall awesome.

He's been my favorite Mario character forever. My best Mario related character in all of the Super Smash Bros games as well. Ranked 6 in Brawl (Behind Olimar, Lucas, Ike, Lucario, and Diddy Kong), Ranked 1 in Melee, and Ranked 2 in the first one (Behind Link). I also use him in Mario Party and Mario Kart games. - ethany

Yoshi is my favorite Nintendo Character. While many characters come close, I have always enjoyed yoshi for his unique traits like eating almost anything. Link and Kirby are also some of my favorites, but I enjoy Yoshi the best.

If I had to pick one, it would be Yoshi for sure cause he is such a character full of cuteness and I can't get my precious eyes off of him, so adorable no matter where you go and definitely my favorite of all nintendo characters.

Using Yoshi as some form of power-up in SMW, his arsenal of powers Mario would never have made Yoshi better than Mario. I had to admit on the game I was annoyed about how much Mario was a weakling, so I was thrilled to bits when I got Yoshi's New Island.

Luigi is too overrated. Yoshi actually is Nintendo's most famous character. Also, Luigi wouldn't live without Yoshi. And one more thing... Yoshi is extremely strong, one of the strongest characters in history.
