MK was extremely dominant in 1990, and the release of Mortal Kombat x (2015) was something that just made the franchise even better, trust me, MK kinda idolized a lot of modern games just like star wars did to movies, and it will continue to dominate in it's specific genre even further when the next comes out (which iis next year I believe (2018)
