A charming, yet interesting approach to the Pokemon movies. This movie follows a plot similar to it's predecessor, but it plays out much differently. Yes, the plots are similar, and the story can seem to drag several times, but overall it really is a great movie. Seeing a Pokemon Ranger's perspective is very unique in my opinion, and I think Jackie was the perfect Ranger for this movie to play out around. His character seemed to develop the most throughout the movie (aside from May, of course) and he really has stuck in my mind ever since I first saw the movie about 10 years ago. Plus, the added bonus of tons of water Pokemon is like the icing on the cake.Overall, I highly recommend this film for all lover of the Pokemon franchise, especially lovers of Pokemon Rangers, water-type Pokemon, May, and pretty good music.(P.S. Listen to the ending song on YouTube. Its called "Together We'll Make a Promise". This song ties the whole movie together.)
