This is the most polished movie ever made for star wars. The plot is great, the character development impressive, acting flawless, the visuals impressive (they put a lot of effort in here, it visually works quite well with the originals), and the dialogue isn't awkward, which is rare for a star wars film. It also has the intangibles: emotion, a message, and effective humor. Episode IV is still my favorite, but this is a close second because there's simply nothing to not like. It's just a perfectly crafted film.

This is a great movie, up there with the best. I loved VII, but this has it beat because it's not too similar to the originals, it's not as predictable, and it's more mature and gritty. It shows the hardships and sacrifices of war, and that not everyone will make it out okay. Vader was used brilliantly, he wasn't used too much but his scenes were epic. Character development could've been better but I enjoyed each of them and was sad to see them die. K2, and Jyn were the saddest deaths in my opinion, but they were moving. It showed how willing they were to put everything on the line to fight against the Empire. Overall it was an amazing movie and will forever be one of my favorites in the Star Wars franchise.

After watching TFA and really didn't like it (for the same reasons than everybody else), you always get called incel or whatever because the lead is a woman this time. But then you get this great movie that deserve a top 3 spot in this ranking, with great casting an also a lead female character.Sorry folks, TFA just really sucked and was a trash remake of episode IV. TLJ was okay, at least they tried something new, just for this it deserves my respect.

This is my favorite star wars movie. I think the best thing about this movie is the characters. The characters are so good that in one movie, I actually cared about the characters when they died at the end, unlike revenge of the Sith which has three movies to developp the characters, yet I don't feel a lot of emotions when they died. - Eclipsmon

This movie was as unecessary as it can get and clearly was just made for money. We are introduced to characters who have no meaning or relevance ever agian and this movie is essentially just the rebels trying to steal the death star plans. It's so forgettable. - darthvadern

This is a great entry into the Star Wars saga. It has an original Story line (cough cough force awakens new hope), Good Animation and some entertaining and fresh characters. Very Emotional and fits in with the timeline perfectly. The final battle was amazing with us finally seeing rebel ground troops in action on the big screen along with a stunning space battle. And we aren't overloaded with jedi

Not my favorite but I do think it's seriously underrated. The way they tackle the war isn't done like anything else in a Star Wars movie. All the other films portray war as just an obstacle to get through, just a battle. This upped it to a new level. Plus, the Darth Vader scene at the end was just perfect, capturing the true power of this evil, monstrous dark lord of the Sith.

This movie is fantastic. The only problem it had was the lack of character development. Really though. It was far better than the Force awakens, so emotional and hard hitting, this is up there probably just below Empire Strikes back, and maybe above Return of the Jedi
