A 12-year old in a typical sub-urban setting with not so typical personality and adventures he had. He is the most hilarious character Cartoon Network can offer. He is one of the characters that can crack you up with "amazing" jokes. He lives in a surreal world with unique characters. By I mean unique, I mean characters which are totally different with each other in terms of personalities and animation styles. The way he interacts with these characters is what makes the show the best. He is the clown, the screw-up and the miracle worker of their world. He is a good friend to everyone but he does dumb stuffs. He makes mistakes but in exchange, he tried hard to make everyone around him better. And don't forget about his Gumballism.

I don't know why I like Gumball. I guess it's because he's a character I can compare to others. He's funny, he's relatable, and he isn't perfect, like some terrible characters I know (Pinky Malinky, Sophia the First). One of the things Cartoon Network knows how to get right with their characters is make them jerks but likable. I shouldn't have to compare him to Sophia, but my little sisters watch it all the time, so I'm stuck listening to this saint's annoying little voice all the time. Another character in a show very similar to Gumball's is Pinky Malinky. He is a character who can make mistakes but basically wants to make everybody happy. That isn't a good personality. You can't relate with him because (in terms of trying to hurt someone) he's perfect. As for Gumball, he'll do things like try to get a saint who is never mad to get mad at them, and he gets rid of his girlfriend, sells his parents, and basically ruins his life.
